ING Poem: Dreams

Dreams

Wishing that life was not real
That all this was a dream

I fall through the clouds of my mind
Thinking of all of the things that could and will not be

Dreaming of what I would do and who I could become
The hero and the savior of worlds

Creating a universe of my own design
A world that will bow down in awe of my power

Being the one the people love
And carry on their backs throughout the streets

But then I start to rise, fighting against forces I cannot control
Screaming and raging as realization sets in once again

And then I wake up
Knowing that my dream has ended

Regretting that I am no longer in control
And I am me again

  1. This is my favorite piece. It evolves around variating emotions, has a great finality to it at the end, is easy to relate to, keeps the reader very intrigued, and is the best example of this form I have seen to date. Thank you for giving yourself to this form. This is truly a winning piece for you.

  3. I like it. It has a nice flow and the words work well. My favorite line is the last one because for such a short statement, it says so much.
